Conceived and created during the pandemic, between 2020 and 2022, First Light is the new album by Tommy Hayes, Ian leslie and Edel Sullivan. All three musicians are senior Music Therapists, with many years clinical experience under their collective belts.
The majority of tracks on the album are newly composed instrumental pieces, while three of the tracks were previously commissioned by various bodies over the past few years.
With a mix of instrumentation including saxophone, strings, electronics and percussion there is an improvised element to many of the tracks. The music could be described as contemporary, with a distinctly Irish feel.

Hayes/Leslie Ireland

Tommy Hayes is a percussionist; Ian Leslie is a saxophonist. Both are MusicTherapists & Guided Imagery and Music psychotherapists
They first met while studying for an MA in Music Therapy at The University of Limerick in 2002.
Since then they have continued to record and perform live together and have released the critically acclaimed album 'Almost Home'.
